Permits & Inspections
A building/repair permit is required for any and all water service and or sanitary sewer work.
Call the District Office before any construction/repair action is planned.
Application for New Construction Permit Requirements
The following items must be completed and include supporting documents for permit issuance.
- Completed Application for new construction permit
- Letter of intent with regard to the purpose of new construction
- Complete project plan including 2 sets of drawings, one (1) digital, one (1) hard copy
- Project plans must include:
- Site/Grading Plan
- Inverts and elevation
- Proposed connection points at the main and the house
- Abandonment of existing laterals (if necessary)
- All work must be performed by a licensed plumber in the state of Illinois.
- Provide a copy of the Plumber’s/Pipe Layer’s State of Illinois Certificate of Insurance
- Provide a photocopy of the Plumber’s State of Illinois License Number
- All District fees associated with water and sewer hookup must be paid in full
- Provide the District with the Pending Cook County Permit number.

It is the Property owner’s responsibility to obtain all related Cook County permits and to adhere to Illinois plumbing codes as required by law.

Violations and Penalties
Any person bound by District Ordinance who violates any violated any provision of District Ordinances shall be fined no less than $100.00 and no more than $1,000.00 for each violation. Each day that a violation exists shall constitute a separate offense.
